Sandy & Chuck's Royal Kona Resort Wedding

It was a gorgeous September day when Sandy and Chuck were married in a beautiful destination wedding at Royal Kona Resort. This oceanfront resort in Kailua Kona provided a breathtaking backdrop for their destination wedding. It was an honor to be the wedding photographer for their Royal Kona wedding and I am so happy to share the photographs from their special day!

The bride and groom first met at Lifetime Fitness, where Chuck works. In June 2017, Sandy decided to get back on track with her fitness and headed to the gym. The account manager paired her with Chuck since she wanted to get back into running and Chuck is a track athlete. After working together for a few weeks, they knew there was something special happening. Chuck confessed to Sandy that he could no longer continue as her trainer since his feelings were getting stronger and stronger. A week later, they went on their first date. The rest is history!

When Sandy and Chuck started planning their destination wedding, Kona was an obvious choice for the location. The groom’s father lives here in Kona! Plus, with its natural beauty and gorgeous ocean views, Royal Kona Resort is truly an oceanfront paradise.

As wedding photographers in Hawaiʻi, EMotion Galleries photographs many destination weddings. This one was truly special. There were four guests in total, sitting at the altar for the oceanfront ceremony. What was even more amazing is that those four guests represented three generations of family for the groom! The bride’s mother was there as well, which rounded out their guest count for this intimate wedding ceremony. The bride’s father was a professional race car driver, who sadly died in a race car accident. To honor his memory and have him present for their wedding day, she included his photos in her bouquet. Truly, this was a day for love and ohana.

Royal Kona Resort weddings are so lovely. The day was filled with so much joy. The bride, groom and their family were all smiles through the day. The groom and his son are both track athletes, and even in their wedding day finery, they decided to race each other around the resort. The love shared between the bride and groom was easy to photograph. Their wedding portraits down by the water were awe-inspiring. It was a joy to photograph this wedding!
